I like doing my own manicure at home, but just like any nail polish addict, along with all sorts of fun, crazy colors, I have lots of treatments, top coats, and masks for my beautiful nails! I came upon this pretty little pink bottle of the Dior Nail Glow Instant French Manicure Effect Whitening Nail Care and I had to try it out.
I did know what the product entailed, since there are dozens of these treatments on the market and I’ve tried a few myself in the past. All of them are said to visually whiten the half-moon of the nail and give it a healthy glow. Ideally, it should make your nails like you’ve had a french manicure. You get beautifully groomed nails and a naked look.
I’ve been painting my nails for as long as I remember and unfortunately they have yellowed, even though I always put on a base coat, but it’s still no help. So, anything that claims to whiten the nails is pretty important to me!
The consistency of Dior Nail Glow feels like a gel, it’s pink in color, applies effortlessly, distributes evenly, doesn’t leak and the excellent brush covers the whole nail in one go. It dries quickly, which is nice, since you can do a 2 min manicure. It lasts for 2-3 days, I’d say.
As you can tell from the pics, I’m sad to say that Dior Nail Glow does not fix my yellow nails problem. 🙁 It looks good overall, nice shine and subtle color, but half of the nail still looks yellow. So the “nail glow” part does work, but now the “whitening” part! However, I’ll still use it, because I do love the result, and it also nicely freshens up my colored nails when I use it as a top coat.
